I know this little blog has been a bit quiet lately, so I thought it was about time (well actually about a month late) to tell you what has been going on over here at Em Makes Patterns HQ.
I have had my head down developing my first pattern to release. It is WAY more work than I had thought it would be (so kudos to those of you who have released a pattern before), but I am just trying to enjoy the process, without thinking too much about the endpoint. Taking my time, to make sure each element is done right.
Although I feel confident about my pattern making skills, making things digital is a whole new ball game, so there has been a lot to learn. There has been a lot of trial and error, and a lot of ‘doh!’ moments (like yesterday when I realised there was an error in one of my pattern pieces... after I had already graded it into ten sizes!) All I hope is that all this trial, error, learning, and practice will make it easier the next time I develop a pattern.
Although I have been very busy with this new project, I have not forgotten about this here blog. I have been thinking about it a lot, and thinking of how I want to take it forward in the future. I think this has been encouraged by starting a new business, but also my recent addiction to podcasts. Is anyone else obsessed? I am a little late on this bandwagon, so have been listening to hour upon hour each day so that I can catch up.
Okay, back to the point. I have been thinking about my blog, and the kind of posts I would like to be doing in the future. I could sit here at my desk and guess at what people would like to read/learn, or I could just ask all of you!
So, my question is, what kind of posts would you like to see in the future?
